MEET JOHN HEALY
With more than 20 years practicing criminal law, John Healy's practice focuses on criminal law and traffic violations. His criminal defense experience spans cases ranging from misdemeanor charges to the most serious felony matters, including murder cases. He attends court proceedings on a daily basis and routinely handles conferences, pre-trial hearings, and trials involving a wide variety of criminal charges and traffic offenses.
Mr. Healy began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County. After handling misdemeanor matters from arraignment through trial, he was promoted to the County Court Trial Bureau, where he handled felony criminal charges including robberies, burglaries, assaults, financial crimes, DWI matters, and drug cases.
In 2007, Mr. Healy established his own practice focusing on criminal defense and traffic violations.

ATTORNEY PROFILE
Mr. Healy is an Ivy League graduate of Cornell University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1999. He continued his studies at Hofstra University School of Law, where he excelled in Criminal Law clinical courses and was awarded a Citation of Excellence in Clinical Law in 2004.
While at Hofstra, Mr. Healy interned with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office and the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York in Central Islip.
After graduating from Hofstra and passing the New York State Bar Examination, Mr. Healy began working as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County. He was initially assigned to District Court, where he handled misdemeanor offenses from arraignment through trial.
After gaining courtroom experience trying misdemeanor cases, Mr. Healy was promoted to the County Court Trial Bureau. There he handled felony criminal charges including home invasion robberies, burglaries, assaults, financial crimes, DWI matters, and drug cases until 2007.
Drawing on his litigation and negotiation experience as a prosecutor, Mr. Healy established his own practice in 2007, focusing on criminal defense and traffic violations.
